Nosara Beach is a beautiful beach destination sitting on the north pacific coast of Costa Rica, enclosed by sea on one side and tropical forest on the other. Nosara, a beach Village of Guanacaste Province is actually a base camp for experienced surfers, a hidden place for honeymooners and there are many adventure tours for families.
We decided to go because my brother is living here. Considering the driving time from San Jose – 4.5 hours driving – and the dirty roads for the last 45 kms, when you get here the environment changes your thoughts and makes you to start loving this destination.
The region known for its beautiful beaches, quaint surroundings and beautiful natural surroundings are the perfect place to relax and unwind after a grueling week at office, while enjoying the various attractions of the region. There are quite a few attractions that can be explored by curious travelers. To begin with San Juanillo Beach located 16 klms from Nosara which a nice rural fishing village, Pelada Beach, Samara Beach, Nicoya town and Sunset points along the cost line. Of all the attractions in Nosara a visit to the Ostional Beach is a must, sitting a short 30 min ride from Nosara, it is a beautiful secluded beach ideal for picnics, snorkeling, swimming and other beach activities. Ostional beach is one of the most important Beach Base for marine turtles that come every year to lay eggs.
With the growing popularity of Nosara tourism, many hotels have come catering to the lodging needs of the myriad of travelers visiting the region. These Nosara hotels are present across all categories and budget range catering to the needs of tastes and preferences of all the travelers touring the region.
The best time to visit Nosara Beach? Is during the months of November till May when the weather takes a pleasant change allowing tourists to enjoy the beauty of the region. Sitting in close proximity of Nicoya town, and Liberia town, Nosara is pretty well connected to the rest of the country. The nearest airport is in Liberia town located 89 km approx, an alternative to it is the local airstrip. Other than that there are several state and private buses operating from all over Costa Rica. Also, from May to November is the rainy season and it turns every single piece of land in beautiful greens which says how the life is in this place.
Road Conditions. From San Jose or Liberia Airports, the road is in pretty good shape but the last 42 kms it turns into a dirt-pump road. Road signs are not well marked so if you are renting a car better to get a GPS.
Me, my brother and my family really enjoyed the 4 days vacation in Nosara. The time stopped for a while in my life and helped me to charge my batteries.
