The Northern Pacific Coast is the driest area of Costa Rica. Hot, dry plains stretch inland and dry tropical forest and open beaches line the coast. Guanacaste is known for its horses, ranches and cowboys, and a horseback ride down a long beach or along forest trails is an amazing experience.
