There is nothing better than hanging out on a tropical beach in Costa Rica, no matter what time of year. The Pacific beaches far to the west on the Nicoya Peninsula are particularly gorgeous in July, August, September and October. As with anywhere, different regions have different weather patterns. On the southern Nicoya Peninsula, around Santa Teresa Costa Rica, rainy season doesn’t necessarily mean rain all day every day. Mornings are usually hot and sunny, and it might rain an hour or two in the afternoon or at night; or it could reverse and rain a little in the morning, followed by a glorious sunny afternoon and sunset.

Rain means relaxing time, which is why you came on vacation! Stretch out in a hammock with a good book; take a nap; indulge in a great meal in one of the many Santa Teresa restaurants; or join a relaxing yoga class. And you haven’t lived until you’ve danced under a tropical downpour at least once to feel the intense power of it – like being under a waterfall!
